	The Citrix NetScaler 9000 Series of application delivery systems optimizes existing network infrastructures for high-speed application delivery. The Citrix NetScaler Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) option provides a comprehensive global traffic management capability that gives multi-site enterprises and service providers a comprehensive solution for disaster recovery and proximity-based access with increased application performance.

Global Traffic Management Capabilities:

The Citrix NetScaler Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) feature option for the Citrix NetScaler 900 Series of Application Delivery systems delivers global traffic management capabilities, which increase application performance, and maintain availability in the event of a data center outage.

Citrix NetScaler offers both geographic and network proximity GSLB for multi-site application environments to maintain constant application availability.

Geographic Proximity

User traffic is distributed among three
data centers, with each other assigned
to his geographically closest site.

Disaster Recovery

User traffic is transparently redirected
to closest (geographic or network
proximity) surviving data centers.

Network Proximity

User traffic is distributed among multiple
data centers, with each user assigned to
the site with lowest latency.

Site Load Distribution

User traffic is redirected to alternate
data centers when pre-defined traffic
load limits are reached.

Combined with Citrix NetScaler SSL VPN, Global Server Load Balancing gives network administrators the ability to provide high availability and optimal application performance for remote users worldwide.
